Milled Bust Coins The Spanish colonial milled bust coin "bust dollar" was minted at eight different New World mints, beginning in most instances in 1772. Their production lasted throughout the remaining years of Spanish colonial rule in the New World , ending as the various regions won their independence from Spain.
